In 1999, I became a father for the first time.  Like most parents, I wanted to provide my children with the safest environment possible.  At the time I was a carpenter and I had experience installing locks and latches on cabinets, but that was the extent of my knowledge of childproofing and babyproofing.  So I headed to local retail stores to try to obtain the necessary items I would need to make my home safe for my children.  To my surprise, I was not able to get the answers or help I needed.  I was frustrated with the quality of the items, as well as disappointed with the limited selection of products.  I then attempted to continue my research on the internet.  After some time, patience and relentless searching, I finally found the products I felt were most effective, durable and cost efficient.   My home was safe from top to bottom, and that’s when all of my friends started asking me to childproof and babyproof their home’s too!!!  This is where it all began. Today, Protect-A-Tot, Inc’s Childproofing and Baby proofing services are available to families throughout South Florida.  In 2010, we expanded our safety services to include CPR classes and Car Seat safety inspections and installations. We are now Proud Providers of the American Red Cross Heath and Safety Training and Child Passenger Safety Technicians. Not only can Protect-A-Tot make your home and vehicle safer, we can now instruct parents, grandparents, expecting parents and care givers on the importance of being prepared for an emergency.
